Sean Dower (Guest Lecture)

Sean Dower is a fine artist, but he works in sculpture, photography, film, sound, and performance art.  He’s also a lecturer at Central St. Martin’s School of Art, the University of Brighton, and Chelsea College of Art and Design.

In his lecture today we spoke about academic life and his career. He studied sculpture at camber-well school of “Art and Design”. He works with lots  of things, allowing him to show us different work of art (which can also be viewed on his website.) I did enjoy quite a few things.

Performance By Sean Dower

The Voyeur

Sean Dower

For The Voyeur, Dower has constructed a space where objects, images and live performance interact in the production and modification of sound.

The range of materials used in The Voyeur reflects the cultural space we live in: everyday objects – cupboards, satellite dishes, wooden pallets, as well as photographs and sculptures – combine with the technology of sound to re-configure our environment. Dower gets inspiration from thinkers who always question’s our understanding of the physical properties of the world: the magical alphabet of Elizabethan alchemist and mathematician.
